Computing Statement

Our Computing curriculum is designed as a curriculum which champions excellence in supporting pupils to achieve to the very best of their abilities. We aim to give our pupils the life-skills that will enable them to embrace and utilise new technology in a socially responsible and safe way in order to flourish. At Sandal Primary we understand the immense value technology plays not only in supporting computing and the whole school’s curriculum, but overall in the day to day life of the children within and out of school. We will equip pupils with skills, strategies and knowledge that will enable them to develop in their computing knowledge in a safe way that will prepare them for a life span of technology. Computing at Sandal provides enhanced collaborative learning opportunities that engages pupils through a content rich curriculum that supports understanding of new concepts and encourages children to be independent and supports the needs of all our pupils. We believe that Computing is a subject that not only stands alone but is woven and an integral part of all learning. Computing within school will provide a wealth of learning opportunities and transferable skills explicitly within the computing lesson and across other curriculum subjects.
